Bleicher/Golightly will present new works from Jessika Cardinahl in an upcoming show called Ascension.
Born and raised in Hamburg, Germany, Jessika established herself as a successful film actress and commercial model, though her education was in fine art and graphic design. Jessika creates large mixed media works on canvas and linen. The subject matter is typically landscapes and/or animals created with a vibrant array of colors.
“This artwork is about the journey of experiences, some fleeting, some lasting, some effusive, while other impressions may remain quite vague. It is this experiential journey I wish to unfold for my audience.” — Jessika Cardinahl

Chilean artist Tom Araya creates vibrant abstracts and his textures paintings are most intriguing. The paint is bunched up in the middle in little clusters that look like they’re ready to burst.

Heather Patterson recreates geographic patterns and forms and then layers them to make up new systems in the environment.

Philippe Jestin works with a variety of different mediums, and I love his simple artist statement:
“The need to identify, to recognize, seems to always call for a story. Bringing us aware (or not) of how much we dread the void and and feel compelled to cast this space with meaning and resolution.”

Spot The Tiger combines the debate over social issues with some lovely art. The concept is simple: yes or no questions regarding important social matters are asked, people respond, the results are tallied up, and an appropriate piece of art accompanies the question.
